Hardcore Punk Storm: Stormo and Death Goals in Pula’s Klub Monte Paradiso

We are diligently crafting this season’s concert lineup, and the latest date to mark on your calendar is May 14th. On that night, Klub Monte Paradiso will host a true storm of alternative genres, ranging from hardcore punk to noise rock, featuring Italian Stormo and British Death Goals!

Mountainous Hardcore and an Explosive Musical Manifesto

Stormo was formed in 2007 in the Dolomite Alps region, inspired by legends of the local hardcore punk scene such as La Quiete and Raein, as well as iconic bands from the ’80s and ’90s like Negazione, Wretched, and Indigesti. From humble beginnings to international recognition, their journey has been marked by an uncompromising commitment to raw and emotional expression. They have played over 400 shows across Europe and the UK, sharing stages with Converge, Full of Hell, and La Dispute, and performing at festivals like Fluff Fest. Now, they are coming to Pula to promote their latest album, “Endocannibalismo”, released under Prosthetic Records.

A Duo That Will Surprise You

The eccentric British duo Death Goals, consisting of vocalist and guitarist Harry Bailey and drummer and vocalist George Milner, is known for its raw and explosive sound, blending post-hardcore, screamo, and noise rock. They describe their style as queercore, tackling themes of identity, mental health, and political activism in their lyrics, often balancing between poetic metaphors and brutal reality.

The band started as Harry Bailey’s solo project in 2017, and after collaborating with various drummers, George Milner joined in 2020, solidifying the band’s lineup. They soon began working on their debut album, “The Horrible And The Miserable,” which was released in June 2021. Following an intense tour, the duo entered the studio the very next year to record “A Garden Of Dead Flowers,” their first release under Prosthetic Records, which came out in 2023. Since then, they have been relentlessly pushing boundaries and expanding their sound, unveiling new music in 2024, including the singles “Knife Bouquet” and “COVO”, as well as a split release with American screamo band Dreamwell.

Their energy and innovative approach have not gone unnoticed beyond the music scene—they also appeared in the short film “We Collide,” which premiered at the BFI Film Festival in 2023.
