On July 28th, the legendary hardcore punk band Cro-Mags will come to Croatia for the very first
time! The venue for this musical spectacle will be Klub Močvara, and alongside Cro-Mags,
the up & coming local sensation My Pitbull Lucifer will hit the stage! Summer in Zagreb will be blazing hot, and not just because of the temperatures…
One of the greatest bands in the crossover scene ever
Cro-Mags are absolute legends of the genre-or rather, genres-as they were among the first to
experiment and break down barriers between hardcore punk and metal with thrash elements.
Founded back in 1981 in New York as a quartet consisting of drummer Dave Hahn, vocalist
John Joseph, bassist Harley Flanagan, and guitarist Parris Mayhew, they have released six
studio albums throughout their career. Despite lineup changes over the years and
complications regarding the rights to the band’s name, they are forever linked by the fact that
they made history in alternative music with their distinctive sound, undeniable energy, and
socially engaged lyrics. The band, led by Flanagan, remains a must-see act at least once in a
lifetime. After hundreds of shows worldwide, Cro-Mags are finally coming to disarm, and
then unite, the Croatian audience!
Wild stoner-doom as an intro
More than worthy support for Cro-Mags comes from My Pitbull Lucifer, a charismatic band
from Pula that you’ll definitely be hearing more about! This local force is forged from
seasoned musicians from bands like Bolesno Grinje, Mighty Zazuum, Super Booster, and
SpellScroll. They play a wild mix of stoner doom-noise with elements of metal and punk,
recently returned from their second European tour, and in April released their first music
video for the song “Gushing River” from their upcoming album “Welcome to New Earth.” To
cut to the chase-you simply have to hear them, and there’s no better opportunity than
warming up for the iconic Cro-Mags!
