Mephistofeles finally in Croatia (two dates)!

One of the most intriguing bands in the genre, Mephistofeles from Argentina, will embark on their first-ever tour of Europe and the United Kingdom this autumn. The great news is that they’ll be stopping in Croatia twice, on October 5 in Pula and October 7 in Zagreb!

A step after Electric Wizard

Pula’s Monte Paradiso Club and Zagreb’s Hard Place will host this dark, demonic trio that is increasingly making waves in the stoner-doom scene. Critics have placed a heavy burden of comparison on them, calling Mephistofeles the next step in the evolution after the legendary Electric Wizard. Gabriel Ravera (guitar and vocals), Ismael Dimenza (bass), and Iván Sacharczuk (drums) have been active as Mephistofeles since 2013. Over the years and through numerous releases, the band has transformed from their initial psychedelic rock roots toward a dirtier, slower, and more menacing sound, filled with esoteric and occult themes of magic, love, addiction and death. Their prolific discography, featuring 4 studio albums, 4 live albums, numerous singles, and several compilations, definitely attests to their musical journey. Their signature is clear: heavy, greasy, slow-burning lo-fi riffs that often culminate in a hypnotic fuzz melody, leading listeners into other psychedelic-tinged dimensions.

Fuzz-drenched stoner for a warm-up

Supporting the occult Mephistofeles at both shows will be the Slovenian stoner-doom band Omega Sun. This trio also shares a love for fuzz, thick and sluggish sound, and, as they say, approaches everything uncompromisingly. With two albums, “Opium For the Masses” (2017) and “Roadkill” (2023), and a U.S. tour under their belts, they are ready to lay down a solid foundation for the upcoming stoner spectacles in Pula and Zagreb.
