ABOUT BAND
Hailing from Koper, Slovenia, heavy fuzz rockers Omega Sun started in 2013 as an instrumental duo and after a few rehearsals morphed into a proper four-piece band with vocals. As of then, Omega Sun played numerous gigs and tours, also sharing the stage with a band like Dopethrone, Unida, Kylesa, Stoner Kebab, Yawning Man, Hippie Death Cult, House Of Broken Promises, Swanmay, Acid Row, Ufommamut, Hippie Death Cult, the Wienry Dogs and more. In 2019, they also did a few dates in the US including Planet Desert Weekend in Las Vegas.
In 2017, Omega Sun released their debut full-length album ‘Opium For The Masses’ (On Parole Productions) as a power trio consisting of Igor (vocals, bass), Seba (drums), and Aris (guitar). In 2022 the band finished the work on their 2nd full-length ‘Roadkill’. The first single ‘The One’ off ‘Roadkill’ was released in late June 2023 as a digital single on the band’s own Bandcamp. The second song, ‘Doomer’ was released on September 1st and the full album was finally released on September 8th. It’s highly praised in all reviews and landed in a very high position (9) on Doom Charts. It was viewed more than 27,000 time within first month on the band’s official YT channel. The album was released in four formats: digital, 12” vinyl, cassette, and Digipak CD. All versions of ‘Roadkill’ were released by No Profit Recordings.
Reviews
“Omega Sun’s “Roadkill” is an open invitation to explore the Doom/Stoner Metal scene, and it’s an invitation that should be embraced wholeheartedly. With this album, Omega Sun doesn’t just arrive on the scene; they crash land, leaving behind a trail of stardust and a sonic impact that resonates deep within your core.” www.witchingbuzz.ovh
”Omega Sun are still on FIRE on this release that offers moments of pure excitement when the band plays a more gloomier style of music that can be quite unexpectedly deafening in places. This is a wickedly entertaining release that should allow Omega Sun to be welcomed into the Doom/Stoner Metal underground scene even further with open arms by an appreciative audience.” outlawsofthesun.blogspot.com
“For the six tracks on the new Roadkill album are pure, unadulterated, atavistic stonerrock, sundried guitar tones and fuzzed out doom. This will take you back to the days of the legends and those parties smack dab in the middle of Palm Desert.”stonerhive.blogspot.com
“What an entertaining record this is. Dark Juan exhorts you all to pay attention to Omega Sun, because they are fucking brilliant – they are never boring, even when there are extended middle eights that turn into middle 128s and the obvious enjoyment of the band shines through in their performance throughout the album. Dark Juan will be keeping a close eye on Omega Sun, and so should you!” www.ever-metal.com
